MSM is proud of its long association with José Carreras which has encompassed a huge range of high profile projects around the world over many years. This has varied from his appearance in arena opera productions to the recording of the music which was coordinated in the opening ceremony of the Barcelona Olympics and special televised galas from extraordinary settings including the Temple at Anchor Wat in Cambodia. Recent projects include his appearance at the opening ceremony of the Asian Games in Doha, performing the official song with the Lebanese singer Magida El Roumi, to an extensive tour of Japan and the Far East as well as Dubai.
MSM presented Rolando Villazón, the young Mexican tenor in his Asian debut as he appeared in a televised Gala specially staged at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ninna-ji Temple in Kyoto.
MSM continues to work closely on Bryn Terfel's celebrated Faenol Festival among his other exciting concert tours worldwide. The Faenol Festival is an annual event which takes place at the end of August. The line-ups in the past include Angela Gheorghiu, Renée Fleming, Rolando Villazón, Marcelo Alvarez, Carlos Alvarez, Dame Shirley Bassey, Michael Ball, Ronan Keating, Girls Aloud and Westlife. Joining the impressive list this year are an exciting German soprano, Diana Damrau, Johan Botha and Boyzone. Highlights for the 2008/2009 season include Elaine Paige's 40th anniversary tour and the launch of her picture book, Mozart Requiem starring José Carreras and Barbara Bonney in Tokyo, José Carreras's Gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall marking 50th anniversary of his stage debut and various concert dates with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa around Europe.
In May 2007, Michael Storrs Music launched our own independent recording label to promote up and coming talents in the opera world (www.msm-cd.com). Our initial releases are "Stolen Notes" and "Rare Verismo" with the Teatro Regio di Parma's Opera Ensemble. This year to celebrate the Puccini Year, we have launched an album titled Puccini's Heroines making the critically acclaimed soprano, Melanie Diener's debut solo album. Our future releases include Rare Verdi – featuring the Grammy Award nominee Johan Reuter, a Korean Songs album with the rising young tenor Wookyung Kim and a Rimsky-Korsakov songbook to commemorate the centenary of the composer's death.
MSM is part of the CSS Stellar Group which includes the International Literary and Theatrical Agency PFD which represents, among others, Ewan McGregor, Keira Knightley and Kate Winslet, as well as the Broadcasting Division representing Michael Parkinson.
